i feel the threat of the seasons
prompting me to prepare my plan of action
the reason i can identify a shadow in the dark

i recognize the patterns
the routines that demand less of me
the loss of normality 
the attitudes that tell me ease has become a challenge 
adjusting my life to the gloom of a grand piano
there is no bright side to look to through the lens of grayscale
struggling to keep my chin, even my thought are heavy

one less habit
one less appearance
until i too have regressed into the shadow in the dark
